Reuben Abati, host of Arise Television's morning show has shared his thoughts on the couple who welcomed a set of quintuplets in Awka, the capital of Anambra State.

The couple who are identified as Mr. and Mrs. Tochukwu Amaechi and based in Onitsha delivered a set of quintuplets at Life International Hospital in Awka.

The three males and two females were delivered on March 29, 2023.

The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo also said he had approved the sum of N2 million for the couple.

This was disclosed by the state’s Commissioner for Women and Social
Welfare, Ify Obinabo, in her office on Monday.

Obinabo said that the money which was currently being processed by the ministry was a token for the well-being of the quintuplets.

She said the support would be sent to the family immediately after the ministry was done processing it.

In an interview, the mother, Chidinma Amaechi, told The PUNCH about her journey to the delivery of her quintuplets and the mixed feelings and challenges thereafter.

She narrated how she prayed for a set of twins, but God gave her five babies.

“After waiting for nine years for children, I started praying to God for twins or miracle babies that would shock the world after the long-awaited years, but I did not expect that they would be up to five.

“In all of these, I still give God the glory because He alone can do it, although, it is not easy to cater to five children at the same time, but we are looking unto God and well spirited individuals to come to our rescue,” she told The PUNCH.
