NBC slams N2m fine on Arise TV and TVC News

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has imposed N2 million fines on Arise News and TVC for alleged breach of national broadcasting Codes.

This was contained in separate letters issued to the broadcasting stations on Friday, February 3, 2023.

NBC said the fines should be paid within two weeks of the receipt of the letters or the sanction would be graduated.

This comes some months after NBC had sanctioned Arise TV News for broadcasting a fake press release on alleged drug trafficking case in the United States against the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

he Presidential Campaign Council of the APC had petitioned the NBC, asking for sanctions against Arise News and Channels TV over their reports Tinubu.
