The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Ghana Chapter has held its annual inauguration with great enthusiasm and spirit.

The inauguration underscored the unity and vibrancy of Nigerian students within the Ghanaian educational landscape.

The ceremony which was held at Knutsford University, featured prominent guests including government and diplomatic officials, ANC leadership, native Ogunians, the Arewa community, former leaders (emeritus), and representatives from other colleges.

The attendance of the dignitaries marked the significance of the occasion in strengthening bilateral ties and fostering cultural exchange between Nigeria and Ghana.

The highlight of the event included a farewell address by the outgoing (2022-2023) President, Comrade Ilo Ikenna charging the team to keep the future in mind in the course of their work and an inaugural address by the new President, Comrade Samuel Edem.

In his inaugural address, the new NANS-Ghana Chapter President - Comrade Sam Edem, declared the administration "An Era of Renewal", noting that it was time for the "renewal of the engagement and partnership that should exist between stakeholders of the union for the development of the Nigerian students in Ghana.

The 2023-2024 NANS-Ghana Leadership is led by, Sam Edem, Muawiya Ismail as Vice President, Daniel Sunday as Secretary General, Ifejuka Somtochukwu as Welfare Officer, Kolawole Tsibiti as Treasurer, Ishola Kamisi as Director of Programs, Jessica Chineke as Women's Commisioner, Daniel Obili as Public Relations Officer with two other National Executive roles to be appointed by the President post-inauguration.

The red carpet was spread out to greet the guests, giving them a taste of glitz and refinement as they entered the event space and displayed their individual fashion sense.

A delicious range of food and beverages were served to attendees, showcasing the rich culinary tradition of Nigerian youth. The communal dinner promoted friendship and offered a forum for cultural exchange, enabling participants to have deep talks and create enduring ties.

Entertainment took center stage at the inauguration, with a diverse array of performances that captivated the audience.

The successful inauguration of the 2023 NANS Ghana Chapter highlighted the commitment of Nigerian youths to academic excellence, youth empowerment, and cultural preservation.

The event served as a testament to the enduring spirit of unity and collaboration amongst the Nigerian youths in Ghana.
