A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dele Momodu says personnel of the armed forces must be offered several incentives to make their job more attractive.

The publisher of Ovation Magazine advised in response to a fan who had called into his Instagram Live session to get his thoughts on the country's security crisis.

He compared the Nigerian Armed Forces to that of the U.S. lamenting that soldiers in other countries especially in the U.S. are respected even when boarding aircraft.

"Boko Haram, there is nothing extra special about them. You have a group of people who are willing to wreak havoc wherever they go and the government itself hasn't been too serious with insecurity in Nigeria. We have not invested as much as needed, I am not talking about cash now, I am talking about incentives. Make sure you can protect our men and women of the armed forces," he said.

"You will see soldiers elsewhere and you will be so proud you will want to be a soldier. If I go to the US and I am flying from one state to another and when they are boarding their soldiers are called first and you see people clapping for them, making them feel extra special. But we dont do things like that here."
