Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja has urged the federal government to serve the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Adoza Bello through his lawyer, Abdulwahab Mohammed.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been on the heels of the former governor for alleged N80 billion fraud during his time as governor of the state.

The Judge issued the order on Tuesday, April 23 while he was delivering a ruling in an application filed by the EFCC for substituted service on Bello.

Kemi Pinheiro (SAN), the lead counsel to the anti-graft agency argued the application.

Although Bello’s lawyer Abdulwahab Mohammed initially declined to accept the charges and proof of evidence, he was compelled to do so by Justice Nwite, Daily Post reports.
