Singer Teniola Apata, aka Teni Entertainer, says her talent constantly reminds her of God’s presence.
She spoke during a panel discussion at Entertainment Week Africa, joined by Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Sasha P, Qing Madi, and Waje.
On authenticity and uniqueness, Teni said, “I don’t mean to sound proud, but my talent reminds me that God is real. How can I write a song right now? How do these melodies come to me? It reminds me there is a reason I am the way I am, because there are other girls like me who are different.”
She also highlighted the importance of women supporting each other, adding, “It’s our obligation to show them. As artistes, we expect so much from everybody, but we don’t always learn to give to ourselves.”
On self-love, Teni said, “For me, I have really just loved myself. Loved myself enough to know that whatever this is, it’s still enough until I can make it better.”
