Nigeria's UFC heavyweight fighter Kamaru Usman has disclosed that his daughter, Samirah Usman cried during his knockout defeat to Leon Edwards in the UFC 278 fight last month.

The 8-year-old was seated at the ringside as she watched her dad being battered by the 30-year-old British fighter at the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, US.

Former UFC King Conor McGregor slammed Usman for allowing her little girl to sit at the cage side.

He believes that such a fight is a solo mission, and fighters can get in touch with their families post-battle.

In response, Usman admitted that her little girl cried as she watched him lose his belts to Edwards.

“The camera pans into the audience and they showed my daughter. My daughter cried and it was the weirdest thing. It was an instant trigger response. My heart, I wanted to cry just seeing that from her.”
