Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that his billionaire father, Dr Adedeji Adeleke, was the main force behind the series of DNA tests he underwent amid paternity claims involving a teenage girl, Anu Adeleke.
The singer made this known while responding to a fan on X (formerly Twitter) who praised the Adeleke family for their perceived openness to accepting children regardless of circumstances. Davido clarified that, while his family is loving, they are also deeply rooted in truth and heritage.
According to him, the decision to carry out repeated DNA tests was not personal but came directly from his father, who insisted on absolute certainty. Davido explained that the Adeleke family places high value on bloodlines and transparency, a principle tied to their cultural background in Osun State.
In his words, “You guys don’t know my father… he’s the one who forced me to go. We don’t play about blood on this side.”
The conversation reopened memories of a long-standing controversy that first surfaced in 2017, when a woman, Ayo Labinjoh, accused the singer of being the father of her daughter. At the time, DNA results reportedly cleared Davido, but the issue has continued to resurface over the years through social media discussions and public appeals.
Davido disclosed that he has taken DNA tests five different times at reputable hospitals, all confirming he is not the child’s father. Despite these results, Anu Adeleke, allegedly influenced by her family, continues to push for recognition and demands another test.
The “Unavailable” hitmaker stressed that his father’s firm stance was aimed at protecting the family’s integrity and ensuring that the truth remains unquestionable, no matter the pressure or public opinion.
