My commitment to serve Nigerians is a payback for the love shown to me - Buhari

President Buhari has said that his commitment to serve his country is as a result of the love shown him over the years.

The president whiles speaking during his visit in Borno expressed his gratitude to Nigerians for their immense love.

According to him, he owe the country a great deal and will continue to do everything within his power as president to do make things right.

“My commitment to serve Nigerians is a payback for the love shown to me. I started my political adventure in Maiduguri and I always look forward to coming here," he said.

The President made this statement at the Palace of Shehu of Borno on Thursday, June 17, 2021.

He narrated how he began his administrative career as a military officer in Borno State as a governor for seven months, under Gen. Murtala Ramat Mohammed.

After his governorship, he was appointed Minister of Petroleum by the former president Olusegun Obasanjo.

In a publication cited on Lindaikejisblog.com, President Buhari applauded the Governor of Borno State for his forthrightness, resilience and drive in bringing development to the state, despite security challenges.
