Mourinho wants Chukwueze at Fenerbahce

José Mourinho is reportedly keen to bring Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze to Fenerbahçe as the Portuguese coach looks to bolster his squad ahead of the new Süper Lig season.

The former Manchester United and Chelsea manager is locked in a three-way battle for the AC Milan star, with Turkish rivals Beşiktaş and Premier League side Fulham also vying for the 26-year-old’s signature.

According to HaberHergun, both Turkish giants have shown serious interest in Chukwueze, who appears surplus to requirements at San Siro following a disappointing campaign in Italy.

Mourinho’s Fenerbahçe are reportedly preparing a loan offer with an option to buy for the Nigerian international, as they look to add attacking flair to their squad. The Istanbul club have been busy in the transfer market, bringing in names like Jhon Duran, Milan Skriniar and Nelson Semedo.

Meanwhile, Beşiktaş, coached by another former Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, have also entered the fray. Reports suggest that Chukwueze’s agent has already landed in Istanbul for talks with the Black Eagles, though early indications are that the club’s initial offer falls short of Milan’s valuation.

Beşiktaş have responded to their rivals’ activity by securing Tammy Abraham and Orkun Kökçü, but Chukwueze is seen as a potential game-changer, especially with his close friend Victor Osimhen now at Galatasaray.

In England, Fulham have reignited interest in Chukwueze following an earlier failed attempt in January. Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that talks between the Premier League club and AC Milan have resumed, though no agreement has been reached on the fee or personal terms.

A move to Craven Cottage could offer the winger a fresh platform to rediscover his best form in the Premier League, alongside compatriots Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey.

Chukwueze’s struggles at Milan have been well-documented since his €21.1m move from Villarreal in 2023. Last season, he managed just 918 Serie A minutes across 26 appearances, with only nine starts, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
