The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), FCT Sector Command, has successfully prosecuted Moses Omokaiye Peter for multiple severe traffic violations, including using a phone while driving, dangerous driving, assaulting an on-duty marshal, and fleeing from an officer.

After his arrest, he was brought before His Worship Abubakar Jega, a Magistrate at the FRSC Mobile Court in Abuja’s FCT Sector Command, on September 23, 2026. The court sentenced him to five days of community service, a N300,000 fine, and a three-month driver's license suspension, pursuant to Regulation 65 of the National Road Traffic Regulations (NRTR), 2012.

The case originated from an incident around 1100HRS on the same day, during a Mobile Court operation. Reports indicate the defendant tried to escape arrest by fleeing with the marshal, leading to his charge of assaulting a marshal on duty.

Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed praised the verdict and emphasized that enforcement officers must be respected while performing their lawful duties. He warned that any attempt to evade arrest, obstruct enforcement, or assault an officer will be prosecuted according to the law.

The Corps also reminded drivers that mobile phone use and reckless driving endanger lives and will continue to be met with appropriate enforcement.
