The Olukosi of Ilukosi-Ijesa, HRM Oba Omotooyosi Bayo M.Akinleye, has stated that former presidential candidate Peter Obi is not a good father and a Christian.

This was after rumours surfaced that Obi's son, Oseloka, is dating a man, a relationship known as homosexual and highly prohibited among Christians, especially in Nigeria, where it is outlawed.

The allegations started when photos showed Oseloka with a man during a stage performance in the West, with many making suggestions about his sexuality.

The rumours intensified when one Kent Okwesa shared a photo of himself with Oseloka to celebrate his birthday on Wednesday, accompanied by a caption referring to Obi's son as "Angel".

The now-deleted post on X read, "I've come so far, worked so hard, so this entire week I'm celebrating my birthday. I'm proud of you angel."

Comments started pouring in from Nigerians who made jest of the situation and saw it as an opportunity to ridicule Obi.

Reacting, Oba Akinleye slammed Obi's parental ability and urged pastors to dissociate themselves from him, having supported his presidential ambition in 2023 because he was a supposedly Christian candidate against a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket.

The monarch shared on X, "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22 : 6). Peter Obi is not a good dad, and not a best Christian as portrayed. I hope Bishop Oyedepo and other pastors can disassociate themselves from this untruthful politician."
