Newly sworn-in Minister of Tourism, Lola Ade-John has received accolades from Nigerians following her show of respect to President Bola Tinubu.

During the signing of the oath of service, Lola Ade-John was spotted kneeling before President Tinubu as she shook his hands and expressed her gratitude.

The inauguration ceremony of the new ministers was reportedly held at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.

It was stated that some notable people present at the event include; Vice President Kashim Shettima; Senate President Godswill Akpabio; Speaker of the House Representatives, Tajudeen Abass; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; and Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.

Her posture caused a stir on social media with many applauding her for showing respect to her elders.

Others however, disagreed and quizzed why Tinubu had to be worshipped.

@Jerryebune: That is the standard. She did well. Respect is very critical to every Yoruba man or woman. I am proud she exhibited this.

@OluPetersJr: There’s nothing wrong in kneeling if she finds it comfortable. Normally a bow will suffice but she decided to do it her own way as a sign of respect for constituted authority and someone who helped lift her up! And she’s Yoruba by d way. So it’s normal.

@Timmynaijaa: It is her culture, even England wey be Europeans dey kneel greet a more superior person.

@odogwu_ogidi: She’s been given the key to the vault of the nation, why not?

@solypapy: Must they kneel? Some will say respect ; but I don’t think it is.

@aai_austin: Why won't you worship person wey just carry vault key give you. Shey Hadi Sirika still dey ball his bags.
Idolatry phase na where we dey for Nigeria politics.

@tmscool: This is the nonsense they want Nigerians to accept that he must be worshipped.
