The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, has urged unions, Area Councils, and education administrators in the Federal Capital Territory to embrace dialogue, transparency, and a shared sense of responsibility in resolving the ongoing strike by primary school teachers.

The Minister notes that the Ministry has carefully reviewed the communiqué released by the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), FCT Wing and acknowledges the concerns raised, particularly those relating to the implementation of the new National Minimum Wage for primary school teachers in the territory.

Dr. Alausa emphasizes that the current administration deeply values the dedication and sacrifices of Nigerian teachers. He assures that relevant stakeholders including the FCT Minister and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) are actively engaging to address the teachers’ demands.

He reaffirms the Ministry's unwavering commitment to the welfare, dignity, and professional development of teachers at all levels of the education system.
