Super Falcons star, Michelle Alozie, has disclosed how she became a player of the female national team of Nigeria.

The American-born Nigerian has become a fan favourite following her performances for the Super Falcons at the FIFA Women's World Cup and the Olympic Games qualifiers.

Alozie impressed in the games against South Africa as the African giants clinched their place at the Summer Olympic Games in Paris.

According to the Houston Dash star, her path to the Nigeria team happened out of the blue after some players of the Super Falcons failed to acquire visas for the SheBelieves championship in America.

"I always say it's a fluke but maybe it was God setting a plan for me," she told The Women's Game podcast.

"They came to the US for the SheBelieves Cup and they had so many visa issues that they almost withdrew from the Cup because they didn't have enough players," she added.

"The coach Randy Waldrum, he reached out, I'm not like even joking, to maybe every Nigeria-American that was playing soccer in the US so just we can fill the roster. He had no idea who I was. It just happened I was in Houston, a Nigerian American. It was a perfect scenario.

"They were like see you at training tomorrow and I trained with them the next day. He was like amazing, and you will make the roaster for tomorrow's game and I was like, oh, alright. Well, I guess I am here, I guess I am playing, and ever since I have been with the national team."

Alozie and the Super Falcons join Zambia as Africa's representatives at the Olympic Games in France, as reported by the BBC.
