Inter Miami forward, Lionel Messi has picked late football legend Diego Maradona as his GOAT (greatest footballer of all time) in the sport.

Messi also compared basketball legend Michael Jordan to Maradona as he also expressed his admiration for Tennis greats Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic.

“For us, Maradona was the greatest idol and a source of admiration for everything he represented,” the Argentina captain told NBC Sports (via All About Argentina).

“Even though I was little and did not see much of him play live, Diego transcended everything.

“Speaking of another sport, I think it was the same with Jordan. I also admire tennis players like Federer, Rafa, and Djokovic.”
