Meet Nigerian mother of 8 who bagged her degree at age 30, PhD at 62

A Nigerian woman has spoken about how she successfully combined fulfilling her academic dream and motherhood.

The woman, identified as Joan Orji, reportedly concluded her first degree with a first class at age 30 when she had six children.

After bagging her first degree, she said that she dedicated a chunk of her time to carter for her children who numbered eight at some point.

The dediated mother decided against pursuing further until her children had the best of education, she said in a LinkedIn post.

20-years afterward she went for her masters and immediately concluded her PhD.

According to the now 62-year-old, she decided to share the story on her LinkedIn page to inspire someone, reminding people that everybody’s stride towards success cannot be the same and no matter how long it takes some people, they can still become who they want to be.

The woman revealed that her eldest granddaughter won a Russian scholarship to study Medicine in Russia.
