Patrick Brown, the current Mayor of Brampton believes Nigeria will be prosperous should the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi win the upcoming 2023 general elections.

Brown was speaking to a large gathering of Nigerians in the city who attended a political forum by the former governor.

"And I know that when you [Peter Obi] are successful, Nigeria will be a good destination for more to invest, grow businesses. The tech scene is the best and I know it always going to grow," he said amidst loud cheers from patrons.

Obi, one of the major political heads in the race for the 2023 presidential elections highlighted 12 key areas he hopes to address as president.

On tackling insecurity, Peter Obi said: "We will pursue intangible assets of good governance, rule of law, security of lives and properties, through an aggressive increase in personnel and equipment, and inclusive training of operatives in our security agencies."

On tackling infrastructural deficit in the power sector, he said: "We intend to lay special emphasis on critical infrastructures, especially Power, to ensure a clear measurable increase of today's generation, transmission & distribution by 200% within the shortest possible time, through public-private partnership."

Peter Obi and his Labour Party will hope to upset the odds in the upcoming general elections in 2023 as he contests the polls with more than 15 other candidates including Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

Prior to his visit to Canada, the former Anambra State governor had made stops in Germany. He heads to Italy afterward.

The tour to these countries is meant to give him the opportunity to engage Nigerians in the diaspora about issues affecting them.
