Ad hoc workers of the Independence National Electoral Commission (INEC) have resigned ahead of the November 6 Anambra elections.

The reports stated that bus drivers who had originally signed up to transport election materials to different election centers say they are not interested in the highly anticipated poll.

This comes less than two weeks to the elections.

The majority of the recruited workers and drivers on Monday, October 25, said they were no longer interested in the job for fear of their lives.

It was gathered that the decision of the workers to quit is following threats issued by the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Though Dr. Nkwachukwu Orji, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) did not confirm the development, a senior staff member of the commission confirmed it.
