A huge python measuring about 10 feet long was put up for sale on Tuesday in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

The seller, Mr Michael Ndubuisi, said he killed the snake behind his flooded backyard off Green Villa Road at Biogbolo-Epie suburb on Monday night.

Ndubuisi displayed the snake on two stakes, which he pinned on the median of the Isaac Boro Expressway near Opolo Roundabout.

Narrating how he killed the snake, he said, “I killed it at my backyard last night. I used a cutlass and targeted its head. I left it to struggle and die after hitting it. This morning, I went to check and it was dead.

“So, I brought it here for sale. A lot of people like snake meat. There are those who have not also tasted it. It’s not a bad thing to eat snake meat.”

Ndubuisi, who is an indigene of Otuan community in the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, said he hoped to sell the python for N10,000.
