A video is making rounds of some Nigerian men arriving at the Central Bank of Nigeria's office in Kano state with sacks of old N500 and N1000 notes totaling N50 million.

The man caused a stir when he arrived with four men carrying sacks of cash into the bank.

He was immediately approached by a bank official who proceeded to ask him how much he was bringing and for who.

In response, the man chuckled and said the money belongs to him and he is a trader in Kano state.

When he was asked why he is just depositing the money now he responded:

"I am a trader and I sell flour."

How much do you have here with you, another person asked.

"I have 50 million naira cash, It is my money."

He added that he has several shops across the state.

This comes following President Muhammadu Buhari's order to the Central Bank of Nigeria to allow into circulation only the N200 notes till April 10.

He said in a nationwide broadcast on Thursday, February 16 that Nigerians should return the old N500, N1000 notes to the CBN branches across the country as they cease to be legal tenders.

Reacting to this viral video, some Nigerians said;

fridayayo: Majority of the northerners are legit business men, they might appear local, but a lot of them are more business inclined than most educated fellows in the south. If you doubt me, take a trio to Kano, sokoto, gombe, nassarawa, zaria, e.t.c, not all these monies you see here are bandits money and politicians money.

isaac_sunday1993: Politicians don dey share the money may they help them deposit to different individuals account.

denicechikaodi: 50mil from selling flour? Lies! stolen money. These people up north are the ones stashing stolen money for their leaders. It can not pass Dangote flour. Ask them to bring the invoice of trailer of flour bought from the factor and compare it to the number of sale! Ndi Oshi
