‘Majority of Nigerians support President Tinubu’s policies’ – APC Youth leader

The Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth Leader, Dr. Seriki Muritala Ishalla, has said that a large majority of Nigerians, particularly young people, are pleased with the policies and programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Dr. Muritala made this assertion while speaking with MyNigeria on the sidelines of the APC Youth Town Hall Meeting, organized by the APC Youth Wing, West Africa, in Accra, Ghana, on Saturday, January 31, 2026. The event was themed “Back Home, Still Involved”.

Expressing satisfaction with the event, Dr. Muritala noted that the APC has significantly strengthened its youth engagement strategy across the country. He revealed that the party is currently running an online registration drive aimed at encouraging more young Nigerians to join the party and participate actively in politics.

Dr. Muritala further commended the Tinubu-led administration, describing it as one of the most impactful administrations in Nigeria’s history, particularly in terms of youth inclusion and empowerment.

He noted that the president has created numerous opportunities for young Nigerians through empowerment programmes, employment initiatives, and strategic appointments into public offices, adding that many Nigerians are happy with what the president is currently doing.

“Majority of Nigerians, majority of Lagosians are really happy with what the president is doing because he’s bringing in democracy”

“This current administration is one of the best administrations we have in the history of Nigeria. With the amount of opportunities, he has given to young people in terms of empowerment, in terms of employment, in terms of appointment of positions that we have right now,” Dr. Seriki said.

Highlighting specific benefits to youths and students, Dr. Muritala cited the Nigeria student loan initiative (NELFUND), which provides financial support covering tuition fees, stipends, and other academic expenses.

He explained that the scheme allows beneficiaries to repay the loan after a grace period of up to 10 years, easing the financial burden on students and their families.

The event attracted notable Nigerian personalities, including the Director-General of the APC Youth Wing West Africa, Hon. Gideon Olatunde Igbasan; Lagos State APC Youth Leader, Dr. Seriki Muritala Ishalla; actor and music artiste Kehinde Adams (Lege Miami); and veteran actor and film director Ambassador Saidi Balogun, among others.

The forum focused on youth development, civic participation, party registration, diaspora engagement, return-to-vote initiatives, and preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
