A Muslim civil liberties group, Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has formally requested to visit former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
In a letter submitted to the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) today, Tuesday, August 18, 2026, by the Abuja branch chairman of MURIC, the human rights group listed the names of its three-man delegation that will visit El-Rufai as Professor Ishaq Akintola, Executive Director; Ustadh Yunus Salahudeen, chairman, Abuja branch; as well as the branch assistant secretary, Shehu Ahmad Lemu.
It will be recalled that El-Rufai has been in ICPC custody since Monday, February 16, 2026, and has already spent approximately six months and two days by today (August 18, 2026), when MURIC submitted its letter requesting to visit him.
