MTN Nigeria Plc announces close period ahead of FY 2019 results

The Board of Directors of MTN Nigeria Communications Plc has declared a closed period from February 10, 2020, until 24 hours after the release of the Company's Audited Financial Statement for the year 2019.

This is according to a statement by the firm released to the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

It also notified the investing public that it had scheduled its Board meeting for February 28, 2020. The board is expected to consider the audited financial statement of the company for the year ended December 31st, 2019.

“Accordingly, no director, employee, adviser of the Company and their connected persons may directly or indirectly, deal in the securities of the Company in any manner during the Closed Period,” the statement read.

A close period is a period before the release of a company’s result or financial statement when of course, those with sensitive information are not allowed to trade on the stock. These individuals may include company directors, audit committee members, persons discharging managerial responsibility, employees and consultants with sensitive information.
