Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has been handed jersey number 22 at Atlético de Madrid following his move to the Spanish giants.

Lookman joined Diego Simeone’s side from Italian club Atalanta in a deal reported to be worth around €35 million, with a potential €5 million in add-ons.

The 28-year-old was officially unveiled at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium on Tuesday, February 3.

The former African Footballer of the Year had his first training session with his new teammates later the same day.

Lookman joined Atalanta in the summer of 2022 from RB Leipzig and spent three and a half seasons in Bergamo.

He scored 55 goals and provided 27 assists in 137 appearances across all competitions for La Dea.

The Super Eagles winger is expected to make his debut for Atlético Madrid in the Copa del Rey quarter-final clash against Real Betis on Wednesday night.
