Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has shared his reaction to his first game for his new side, Atlético Madrid, in the Spanish La Liga.
After hitting the ground running in the quarter-final of the Copa del Rey against Real Betis, Lookman’s home debut in La Liga against the same opponent ended in a disappointing 1–0 defeat.
Antony’s first-half strike from the edge of the penalty area gave Manuel Pellegrini’s side all three points at the Wanda Metropolitano on Sunday, February 8.
It was the first home defeat in the league for Diego Simeone’s side this season.
Lookman, who had a goal ruled out for offside during the encounter, took to social media to share his reaction after the game.
“Not the result we wanted, but we stay positive. A very special moment making my debut at the Metropolitano. Aupa Atleti,” the 28-year-old wrote on X.
