Jesutega Onokpasa, Lawyer and member of the dissolve All Progressive Congress Presidential Campaign Council had a heated exchange with Rufai Oseni of Arise Television during the Morning Show on Monday.

During the interview which was centred on the struggles that has befallen the citizens since Tinubu removed subsidy, Onokpasa in claimed the President never announced subsidy removal.

Oseni replied saying the lawyer was misrepresenting the facts as President Tinubu during his inauguration announced the removal of fuel subsidy which led to the challenges.

Onakpasa interrupted and accused Oseni of disrespecting him by raising his voice.

Suddenly the heated exchange began, read what transpired below;

Oseni: “Patriotism means supporting your country at all times but also supporting the government when they deserve it. Mr Onokpasa I put it to you that you came here to misrepresent the facts today as regards to subsidy removal. President Bola Tinubu announced Subsidy gone on inauguration day and that was effectively pulling out subsidy. So, you saying he cannot remove subsidy and quoting the PI law that has been there for a while is misrepresentation of the law.”

Mr Onakpasa who attempted to cut in, was stopped by Rufai who informed him that he wasn’t done with his question. “I’ve not finished,” Rufai said.

The lawyer immediately rebuked Oseni, telling him not to raise his voice at him.

“Don’t raise your voice at me young man, don’t raise your voice at me Rufai,” he said. “I am your guest, you will respect me. I will walk out of your studio if you raise your voice at me. Talk to me respectfully for God sake.”

Rufai said: “Mr Onakpasa you may take your decision if you want to, I’m asking a question, you might decide to walk out if you want to.” he went on to ask his question. "Mr Onakpasa since President Tinubu came in the economy has tanked. It is at an all time low as we speak."

Interrupting his question, Onakpasa refuted Oseni claims. He said, “It is not true the economy has tanked.” “You are a liar,” he said.

Oseni: "Mr Onakapasa moderate yourself alright."

In response the lawyer said; “Do you know what you’re doing? You are practicing sensationalism; you are pretending to be a journalist. What is the matter with you. Don’t talk rudely to me please, I am your guest. You will respect me. What is the matter with you.”

Rufai continued to pose his question, while ignoring Onokpasa.

Upset Onokpasa fumed again saying, “I can’t believe this boy.”

As Oseni concluded his question, Onokpasa thanked him and called on the co-hosts, Dr Reuben Abati and Mairo Ese to ask their questions.

“Thank you for that question Rufai Oseni. Please Dr Reuben Abati and my adorable in-law, Mrs Mairo Ese, does anyone have any reasonable question for me to answer because I am not dignifying that insulting question from Rufai with a response,”
Onokpasa noted.

Rufai oseni: “Mr Onakpasa I can see you are bailing on my question and that is alright."

Mr Onokpasa: “I am not invading your question. Listen Rufai, this is not animal psychology, it is law. If you want to be a journalist, you can be a journalist and you should learn the ropes ahead of you. You can never be my mate.”

“What is wrong with this badly brought up little boy. Nonsense, how dare you disrespect me.”

Rufai on his part said he did not disrespect the lawyer as he only asked a question.

Onokpasa replied; “You disrespected me, and you should know better than to do that.”

Dr Reuben Abati quickly brought the interview to order and called for a commercial break.
