Lil Wayne is our Nigerian Brother- Abike Dabiri

Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri has reacted to Lil Wayne's latest revelation about his Nigerian nationality.

The rapper whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. made the revelation during an interview.

This is coming weeks after the songwriter hinted at the possibility of a visit to Nigeria, as reported by MyNigeria.

Reacting to the news, the Chairman of the Diaspora Commission urged him to visit Nigeria.

“Our Nigerian brother. Many doing their DNA and identifying their roots. We look forward to welcoming him home someday soon,” she said.

Lil Wayne is not the only one that expressed his desire to be Nigerian, another American rapper, Cardi B expressed intentions to be a citizen owing to issues between the United States and Iran over the death of ex-Iranian General, Soleimani.
