Former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has advised the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, to stop petitioning U.S President Donald Trump against President Bola Tinubu.
This was after Atiku's aide Paul Ibe shared an update from a lawyer's move against Tinubu abroad.
Ibe wrote, "The issues of President Bola Tinubu's alleged forgery of certificates and documents and forfeiture of $460,000 linked to heroin trafficking in the United States is not going away anytime soon. Here's Barr. Kalu Kalu submitting a petition to the European Commission in Brussels on this and Tinubu’s threat to our constitutional democracy."
A U.S lobbyist firm has also been reportedly assigned by Atiku against Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Reacting to such actions, Shehu Sani advised Atiku and others to rather spend time convincing Nigerians on why they should elect him as President.
He wrote on X, "The ADC flag bearers should focus and spend their time in seeking for votes from the Nigerians they want to lead;and not seeking for validation from President Trump or the EU or dissipating their energy and resting their hopes in the illusive search for easy road to power from the US justice Department. They should convince Nigerians on what they can do differently, instead of wasting their time, scanning graveyards and exhuming corpses in the US,in search of talisman and treasures for political advantage in Nigeria."
