Lawmaker dies as a result of COVID-19 in Nasarawa

A lawmaker has died as a result of coronavirus in Nasarawa State, becoming the state's first causality, according to reports.

The victim is a State House of Assembly Member representing Nasarawa Central, Suleiman Adamu.

According to the Nigeria Center for Disease Control - NCDC< NAsarawa has recorded a total of nine coronavirus cases.

The State Assembly Complex shall remain closed while members have been directed to self isolate until the conclusion of proper examination by medical personnel, according to reports.

Similarly, the Government announces total lockdown of five Local Government Areas including Lafia, the State Capital to ensure containment of the virus spread.[NTA]
