Lalong retains Gubernatorial seat

Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong has retained his position as Governor of Plateau State after the Supreme court upheld the election that brought him into power.

A seven-man panel of justices led by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, dismissed the suit filed by Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Senator Jeremiah Useni, to challenge the outcome of the governorship election that held in the state on March 9, 2019.

Justice Paul Galinje while reading the judgment said: "The Supreme Court finds no reason to disturb the concurrent decisions of both the tribunal and the Court of Appeal that returned Lalong of the All Progressive Congress, APC, as duly elected."
