Nigerians on Twitter have called out Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed over the press conference held in Abuja on Tuesday, November 23 discrediting the report of the Lagos State judicial panel of inquiry.

The minister in the said press conference insisted there was no "massacre" at the Lekki tollgate on October 20, 2020, insisting that the leaked report was fake.

Recall, the panel of inquiry which was set up by the Lagos State government in its findings cited after a year of investigations and interrogation of key witnesses that the unfortunate incident was a massacre.

The report alleged that nine unarmed persons were killed at the toll gate when soldiers and policemen stormed the scene to disperse protesters on October 20, 2020.

The 309-page report stated, “The atrocious maiming and killing of unarmed, helpless and unresisting protesters while sitting on the floor and waving their Nigerian flags and while singing the National Anthem can be equated to a massacre in context.”

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who received the report constituted a Committee to bring forward a White Paper within the next two weeks to be considered by the Lagos State Executive Council.
