Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has slammed all those criticising the Lagos State Government after some local governments in the state renamed streets to honour Yoruba heroes.

The latest saw the renaming of Charly Boy bus stop to Olamide Baddo bus stop by the Bariga LCDA last week.

This anger was shared by many who felt the action reeked of bigotry against other tribes living in Lagos.

Some of those who raised objections to the move included human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN) and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore.

However, Omokri pointed out on social media that when other states in Nigeria take actions to favour their indigenes, nobody raises an eyebrow, but they are always quick to attack Lagos for doing the same.

Omokri wrote, "Please fact-check me: This job advert by the Anambra State Government clearly states that "candidates must be indigenes of Anambra State". This was in 2023.

"Femi Falana did not release any statement condemning Anambra State. Omoyele Sowore did not condemn Anambra for 'xenophobia and ethnic baiting' as he is now doing to Lagos.

"Peter Obi, who is from Anambra, pretended not to see this injustice. He remained silent about it till today. Oby Ezekwesili, also from Anambra, suddenly went blind, deaf, and dumb.

"Other activists now condemning Lagos State and its Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas did not face Anambra when this happened.

"But guess what? And please fact-check me: There are over 500 people who self-identify as Anambra indigenes working in the Lagos State Civil Service. Under Bola Tinubu as Governor of Lagos, an Anambra indigene from Dunukofia Local Government Area, Ben Akabueze, was made a Commissioner for economic planning and Budget for two terms.

"If the Lagos State Government or its Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas published such an anti-Nigerian job advertisement, these individuals I named above would cause an #Endsars-level protest. But as it occurred in Anambra, they never raised an eyebrow!

"Now, tell me, which state is really bigoted and intolerant between Lagos and other states?"
