Lagos commissioner vows legal action as netizen posts fake flooding video

The Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, has vowed legal action against a social media user for posting a video about flooding.

The social media user, with the handle @Jamessucre2 on X, had shared a fake video, which he attributed to Lekki, Lagos.

The misleading video generated a lot of engagement, with many making a mockery of Lagos government over the issue of flooding.

Reacting, Commissioner Wahab vowed to ensure legal conclusion despite the social media user deleting the video.

He wrote, "Dear Enugu Loudmouth @Jamessucre2

"Taking down the post after misleading the public does not absolve you of the responsibility. Appropriate legal action will still be pursued, and this matter will be taken to its logical conclusion in accordance with the law.

"Thank you for your understanding."
