Lagos State has announced the appointment of popular influencer Mandykiss as the new face of the Lagos State Kicks Against Drug Abuse (LASKADA) campaign.
The initiative is designed to leverage Mandykiss’ strong online presence, raising awareness of the dangers of drug abuse and encouraging preventive action across the state.
At the unveiling, officials stressed that the fight against drug abuse requires a collective effort, extending beyond government initiatives.
By engaging influencers like Mandykiss, the campaign aims to connect more effectively with young people and broader communities.
The spokesperson noted:
“Nobody is without a past, and nobody is perfect. With the wide reach Mandykiss has built, we believe she can amplify this message and ensure it reaches every corner of Lagos.”
As part of her ambassadorship, Mandykiss will participate in public sensitization events, school outreach programmes, and social media campaigns targeted at discouraging substance abuse among youths.
The appointment also comes weeks after Mandykiss made headlines with her attempt at breaking a Guinness World Record, which was later disqualified by GWR.
Despite the setback, she has maintained a strong following and influence, which the Lagos State Government hopes to channel into social impact.
