Nenadi Usman, the interim national chairman of the Labour Party, says the party remains the strongest among all political parties in the country.
Usman made the comment on Monday, January 26, when she featured in an interview on ‘Prime Time’, a programme on Arise Television.
According to her, the party is the strongest in the country because the party is the only party that has institutional members like the Trade Union Congress, TUC and the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC.
According to her, party membership e-registration is the brainchild of the Labour Party, even though other parties are now doing the same.
“The Labour Party is the only party that has institutional members like the TUC and NLC. There is no polling unit you can go to that won’t have teachers, nurses, or retired civil servants.
“So if you use that structure, the Labour Party should be the strongest in Nigeria if you know what you are doing.
“Why this didn’t work out in the 2023 general elections is that the NLC and the TUC were not carried along as they should have been because if they had been made polling agents as we had them in every polling unit, we wouldn’t have run into the problem we rant into,” she said.
