Hansi Flick's immovable object met a force that was just too much for them as Sevilla stunned Barcelona in the Spanish La Liga on Sunday, October 5.
The Rojiblancos handed the Spanish champions their first league defeat of the season with a 4-1 drubbing at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.
Goals from Alexis Sánchez, Isaac Romero, José Carmona, and Akor Adams ensured that Marcus Rashford's volley on the stroke of halftime only counted as a consolation for the Blaugranas.
Nigerian international Akor Adams, who came on as a substitute on the half-hour mark, had a goal ruled out for offside before Chidera Ejuke set him up deep in stoppage time to score Sevilla's last goal of the game from close range.
Prior to the game, Akor had spoken confidently about scoring against Hansi Flick's side if given the nod.
“I think I have the ability to score in every game if I have the opportunities,” he said before the match — and he proved just that.
The victory has moved Sevilla to sixth position on the Spanish La Liga log, currently level on points with Atlético Madrid, who sit fifth with a superior goal difference.
