Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho has vowed to prove himself at Sevilla following the conclusion of his loan spell at Sky Bet Championship side Middlesbrough.

Iheanacho is set to return to the La Liga outfit after struggling to secure regular playing time since joining the club on a free transfer last summer.

The former Leicester City forward made just nine La Liga appearances for the Rojiblancos and two appearances in the Copa del Rey.

In an interview with Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the 28-year-old expressed his delight at the prospect of returning to Sevilla.

"I’m really excited to be here. It’s a wonderful place. It was good to go out and to feel football in a different environment," the one-time FA Cup winner said in an interview with Mundo Deportivo.

"Sevilla is a great club. I loved my experience there. It’s a great team, and I’ll be happy to get back there," he concluded.
