LIVE UPDATES: Guinea-Bissau vs. Nigeria (AFCON Qualifiers)

Super Eagles XI Super Eagles XI

The stakes are high for the Super Eagles as they take on the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau in the return fixture of Nations Cup qualifiers on Monday, March 27 (today)

Jose Peseiro's side suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja last Friday, courtesy of Mama Balde's 30th minute strike.

The Super Eagles huffed and puffed for the remainder of the game but lacked the cutting edge to draw the game level.

Pressure is mounting on Jose Peseiro who has managed just two wins in eight games since taking over from Augustine Eguaveon in May last year.

The defeat means that the Super Eagles have surrendered the top spot in Group A to the Wild Lions of Guinea-Bissau.

Nigeria currently sit second in Group A with 6 points, one point behind Guinea-Bissau in first place.

Sierra Leone are third in Group A with 5 points whereas Sao Tome and Principe sit rock bottom with a single point.

The 2013 African champions and three-time winners will be hoping to get their campaign back on track as they face Guinea-Bissau at Estadio 24 Setembro at 5pm today.

Nigeria will reclaim top spot in Group A with a win over Guinea-Bissau.
