The National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Senator Rabi’u Kwankwaso, has condoled with the people and government of Kano State over the passing of Alhaji Aminu Dantata.
This was contained in a condolence message he posted on his official social media platforms, X and Facebook, on Saturday.
According to a family source, the late Dantata died on Saturday at the age of 94. He was a prominent figure in Kano State, widely known for his significant contributions to the development of the state and Nigeria at large.
In his message, Senator Kwankwaso said, “Alhaji Aminu will be remembered for his towering contributions to our country, and especially in Kano, where his name has become almost synonymous with the state.”
He described the late Dantata as an Iroko, a term signifying a person of great stature and influence, noting that his death is a tremendous loss to both Kano and the nation.
“I am saddened to learn of the passing of Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata,” Senator Kwankwaso stated.
The NNPP leader prayed for God’s mercy on the soul of the deceased, saying: “May the Almighty Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus.”
Kwankwaso also extended his condolences to the government and people of Kano State, as well as the Dantata family: “I extend my condolences to the good people and government of Kano State, as well as the Dantata Dynasty,” he concluded.
