Kudos to Tinubu on tax palliatives for businesses - Rufai Oseni hails Jagaban

Arise Television co-host, Rufai Oseni has applauded President Bola Tinubu for signing four executive orders into law, which includes the suspension of the five percent Excise Tax on telecommunication services as well as the excise duties escalation on locally manufactured products.

The President also signed the Finance Act (Effective Date Variation) Order, 2023, which defers the commencement date of the changes contained in the Act from May 23, 2023 to September 1, 2023.

President Tinubu also signed The Customs, Excise Tariff (Variation) Amendment Order, 2023, shifting the commencement date of the tax changes from March 27, 2023 to August 1, 2023 and also in line with the National Tax Policy.

This move is said to ease the tax burden on Nigerians and businesses across the country.

Reacting to the new executive orders signed by Tinubu, Rufai Oseni, a major critic of the President hailed him for the initiative.

Rufai who has been known to use his platform to promote small businesses has taken to his Twitter page to commend President Tinubu for the tax palliatives for businesses.

He tweeted; "Kudos to the President on the tax palliatives for businesses. We must do more for the Nigerian people."
