Former Germany midfielder Toni Kroos has voiced his opinion that the 2026 Ballon d’Or should be awarded to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia of Paris Saint-Germain.
Kroos believes the Georgian star outperformed elite players like Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, and Rodri over the past season.
He also emphasised that Kvaratskhelia is currently representing the best club in the world.
“The Ballon d’Or should go to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. He probably won’t win, but he’s the number one without hesitation,” Kroos said.
“The best World Cup players — Messi, Jude, Mbappé and Rodri — had average club seasons.
“Kvaratskhelia was the best player, at the best club in the world.”
Kroos’ comments come amid growing recognition of Kvaratskhelia’s outstanding 2025/26 campaign with PSG.
