German champions Bayern Munich have reportedly rekindled their interest in Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.

According to reports, manager Vincent Kompany has identified the Galatasaray striker as a potential replacement for England captain Harry Kane.

Kane has been linked with a move to Barcelona and a possible return to the Premier League, with the club initiating talks over a possible contract extension.

The former Spurs striker has been in excellent form for the Bavarians, netting 130 goals in 133 competitive matches.

With no concrete agreement between the player and the club, Bayern have reportedly lined up Osimhen as a like-for-like replacement should Kane decide to leave the Allianz Arena.

According to Foot Mercato, Kompany is a huge admirer of Osimhen.

“Bayern coach Vincent Kompany greatly admires the former Lille player, whose explosive start in Belgium with Charleroi he remembers fondly. The Munich management is anticipating all eventualities regarding Harry Kane’s (32) age and is actively preparing for his potential departure,” the report stated.

Osimhen has netted 10 goals in the Turkish Super Lig and seven in the UEFA Champions League for the Yellow and Reds this season.
