The governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello has banned the wearing of facemasks in public in order to ensure recognition of people in the state.

He said this in a security meeting in Lokoja on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, with all traditional rulers, and local government council chairmen in the state.

Yahaya advised the traditional rulers to properly watch their territories to ensure any unscrupulous people are caught and dealt with.

The governor also cautioned politicians about being a part of or playing a role in anything that could affect the peace and security of the people.

“Let me sound a note of warnings to all politicians irrespective of political persuasions to desist from anything that could disrupt the peace we are currently enjoying in the state,” he added.
