Popular clergyman Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo has advised citizens who plan to buy lands or homes in Nigeria to do business with companies that have the right approval from the appropriate authorities before venturing into such a venture.
The Global President of the Kingsway International Christian Centre offered this advice in a recent interview.
After retiring in 2022, the veteran pastor pursued a career in Real Estate and has since become one of the largest landowners in Lagos.
With over 40 years in ministry, he ordained his first son, Tobi Ashimolowo, as a resident pastor in the United Kingdom.
Speaking on the several complications that affect Nigerians and their purchase of landed properties, he advised: "If you want to buy in Nigeria, my advice for starters is to look for companies who have gotten pre-approvals. They get the approvals, C of O, and they have physical planning approval that this area of Lagos State shall be known as an estate called Makarios.
"They can never enter to come and demolish, it's not possible. Despite the challenges of Nigeria, it is not possible for an estate duly approved by Lagos state physical planning to get demolished."
