Nigerian actress, Kemi Lala Akindoju is set to co-produce the first-ever Netflix Naija series.

Bubbling in excitement, the Africa Magic trailblazer award winner took to social media to announce the moment with a short video snippet.

"I am grateful to everyone who has contributed in one way or the other to my journey thus far. I promise to keep pushing and keep growing.

"Our show was announced yesterday and we are very excited but hard at work...if I have been unavailable to you especially via phone in the last 5 months, this is why," she wrote.

MyNigeria.com gathered that Netflix's first local project is an untitled six-part show “set in modern-day Nigeria and shot in Lagos," according to the company's statement. The story is centered around Kemi, a goddess reincarnated as a human to avenge her sister’s death.

Besides that, Netflix has registered its presence in Nigeria and most especially, only social media and very specifically on Twitter.

The American media-services provider and production company threw everyone off their seats with a very tantalizing tweet that has been getting diverse reactions on and on.

Even Ncuti Gatwa was excited

While the Nigerian show hasn't got an official premiere date, Netflix's first original South African series, "Queen Sono," is coming out later this week.
