Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has slammed the leader of the United Kingdom’s Conservative Party, Kemi Badenoch, who said her children cannot get Nigerian citizenship because she's a woman.

Badenoch made this known while discussing the differences between immigration policies in Britain and Nigeria with CNN.

She said, “It’s virtually impossible, for example, to get Nigerian citizenship.

“I have that citizenship by virtue of my parents, I can’t give it to my children because I’m a woman.”

She used the example to highlight what she described as the imbalance in immigration systems, noting that many Nigerians take advantage of the UK’s more lenient processes.

“Yet loads of Nigerians come to the UK and stay for a relatively free period of time, acquire British citizenship. We need to stop being naive.

“That is why under my leadership, we now have policies to make it harder to just get British citizenship. It has been too easy,” she said.

When asked if she would support the idea of a Nigerian immigrant recreating a “mini-Nigeria” in the UK for cultural integration, Badenoch firmly rejected the notion.

“That is not right. Nigerians would not tolerate that”.

“That’s not something that many countries would accept.

“There are many people who come to our country, to the UK, who do things that would not be acceptable in their countries,” she said.

Reacting, Fani-Kayode described Badenoch as a liar, adding that the reason why her children can't get Nigerian citizenship is because she hates Nigeria and doesn't want them to have anything to do with the country of her parents.

He shared on X, "Not only is this sleazy feline lying again, but she is also suffering from a rare form of mental illness. She should go and read section 25 of the Nigerian constitution, which allows persons whose parents or grandparents (male or female) to become citizens of Nigeria, after which she should go and check herself into a lunatic asylum. Her children can't get Nigerian citizenship, not because she is a woman or because our constitution bars them from doing so, but because she does not want them to have it and because she has nothing but hate, disdain and contempt for our country. She should stop behaving like a bitch on heat and leave Nigeria out of her foul-smelling, fork-tongued mouth. Enough is enough!"
