The Ogun State Police Command has recovered the Lexus RX300 earlier reported missing from the residence of late retired broadcaster, Ms. Kitan Oyesiku, as investigations into her death and that of her security guard gather momentum.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, on Sunday visited the scene of the incident to assess developments in the ongoing investigation and receive firsthand briefings from detectives handling the case.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the CP inspected the premises and reviewed the progress made so far in efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Babaseyi stated that the police commissioner reiterated the command's commitment to ensuring that all those connected with the crime are identified, apprehended and prosecuted.
He disclosed that police operatives recovered the Lexus RX300 during an overnight operation, adding that the vehicle had been secured as an exhibit to aid the investigation.
"The Commissioner of Police has directed that all available resources be deployed to ensure a thorough investigation and the arrest of those responsible for the crime," the police spokesperson said.
Ojajuni also sympathised with the family of the deceased and assured residents of the state that the command remained committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice.
The police command further stated that significant progress had been made in the investigation and promised to keep the public informed of further developments as the case unfolds.
