The controversy and reactions that have surrounded the incarceration of popular crossdresser Idris Okuneye, famously known as Bobrisky seems not to end anytime soon as the socialite was reportedly relocated from the Ikoyi Correctional Center to the Kirikiri Prison by the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS).

Bobrisky was sentenced to six months imprisonment for abuse of the nation's currency, the naira by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos.

Despite multiple reports indicating that the socialite was camped at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre, a credible source within the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) confirmed to Leadership that the social media personality was discreetly transferred to Kirikiri Prison over the weekend.

The source explained he was moved because Kirikiri is a more expansive facility compared to Ikoyi.

“It is procedural that he is moved to Kirikiri since it is an expansive prison compared to what we have here,” the source said.

The judge highlighted that the verdict aims to deter others from abusing and defacing the naira.

The source confirmed that the convict has been placed in the male cell alongside other inmates and will be treated as such during his incarceration.

The move generated several reactions on X (formerly called Twitter). A user with the handle @frisky01YNWA47, wrote: "Just keep him somewhere and throw the keys in the ocean. He’s dangerous to society, everyone who follows him on IG deserves 1 month in jail too, because the guy said he’s an influencer with 5M followers. Wetin una papa Dey influence una to be?"

Another @MideTosin1 wrote: "There's more to this issues. They granted someone bail for the same offense but they didn't grant him. Corruption of the highest order. They should just clear us there's more to it it's not about money stuff."

@EObaniyi commented: "If we are being brutàlly honest, this Bobrisky’s case is going too far. How does a Naira mutilation crime land him an imprisonment of 6 months in Ikoyi prisôn? As if that wasn’t enough and now it's Kirikiri next? A prison for hardened criminals?
