A member of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Mohammed Abubakar, on Monday disclosed on the floor of the Assembly that his Dutsin-ma Constituency had been under incessant terrorists’ attacks in the last four months.

He therefore called for the establishment of Mobile Police posts in the constituency. Abubakar raised the alarm while moving a motion of urgent public importance during the house plenary.

He disclosed that the terrorists had recently abducted no fewer than 13 victims, four of whom he said were females, including a nursing mother.

He added that although the victims were later released, people in his constituency still live under the threats of the terrorists.

Abubakar specifically mentioned Sabongarin Safana in the Constituency which, he said, recently came under terrorists’ attacks.

He also mentioned Makera, Daibawa and Kutawa communities in the constituency as being at the receiving end of terrorists’ attacks.

He said, “The issue of banditry is now rampant in Dutsin-ma Constituency which I represent. Our constituency has been under incessant terrorists’ attacks in the last four months.

“Our neighbouring constituencies, including Safana, Batsari and Danmusa are also not left out. The bandits had kidnapped no fewer than 13 residents of my constituency, including a nursing mother, in the last four months.

“It is because of the fear of these bandits that I am now appealing to the House to inform the appropriate authorities on the need to establish an outpost of the Mobile Police Force in the constituency.”

The House unanimously adopted the motion as moved by Abubakar, calling for the establishment of the Mobile Police Force outpost in Dutsima Local Government Area.

The Speaker, Tasiu Magarin, who presided over the plenary, directed the clerk of the house to write relevant authorities on the House resolution.
